Over the years, as someone who grew up being around and watching others work with horses before venturing into her own business, Jen Jonas (link to ‘Meet Jen’) witnessed first-hand how pivotal the foundation of a horse’s training is – regardless of discipline.

If a horse is not fully versed in a solid foundation, and taught only the specific maneuvers for their sport, the holes will show up especially in the show pen.

Without a solid foundation in a training program a lot can and will go wrong both in and out of the show pen.

Adding maneuvers will come easier for the horse when they have a better
understanding of their job in the foundation.

A solid foundation has always been the cornerstone in Jen's training programs, and that means a horse that has rhythm, softness, lightness, responsiveness, self carriage, consistency, and very important – patience and self regulation.

Training a horse in a solid foundation takes time, and just as humans learn at different speeds – so do horses. Jen’s programs align to each individual horse’s learning needs.

Consistency in building a solid foundation will ensure that the horse will develop to the best of their abilities and be happy performing them – however long that takes for each horse
